Vaughn Industries has an opening for a VDC Utility Coordinator working out of our Columbus Ohio based office. Join Team VI and be part of fast-growing and exciting future of 3-D design and modeling of Substations and Renewable Energy projects. This position will be responsible for the preparation of coordination plans and other drawings for new construction and upgrade/rebuild projects. This position works with the construction teams to facilitate collaboration and communication for the modeling and scheduling of entire substation, transmission and renewable projects.

Duties:

• Construct layouts for high voltage and renewable systems on utility projects
• Work with Vaughn’s project managers and owners early in the design process for project sequencing and safety clearance concerns
• Work with field and office personnel to ensure constructability of design
• Generate installation drawings for use by field and prefabrication personnel
• Perform minimal design calculations using sound engineering practices
• Conduct field surveys to document existing conditions

• 2-4 years of industry experience preferred in High Voltage Substation, Transmission, Distribution; Renewable Energy; or 2-4 years’ experience with Inventor, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, or Navisworks
• Read & interpret submittals, RFI’s, and related construction documents
• Ability to read and interpret substation, transmission line, and renewable energy drawings and specifications
• Ability to adapt to ever-changing environments, as software is continually changing
• A degree or certificate in Computer Aided Drafting, Engineering, 3D Design, Construction Management, or other high voltage/construction related fields of study a plus!
