Sales Rep/Inventory Manager

Jones Lumber & Millwork Co.

The ideal candidate would have a well-versed knowledge of the lumber and construction materials industry, with a sales and inventory management background. In this role, you will be responsible for driving sales, building relationships with customers and ensuring our inventory is managed.

Sales representative responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.
• Find creative solutions for our customers’ needs.
• Identify new sales opportunities with prospective customers.
• Provide expert advice on lumber products, pricing and services performed.
• Prepare quotes, write sales orders, schedule and coordinate deliveries for customer orders.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and new product offerings.
• Track sales performance and report on progress regularly.

Inventory / pricing management responsibilities:

• Maintain a consistent level of inventory.
• Order materials when inventory levels are below designated numbers.
• Perform price checks with all vendors to ensure we are maintaining the best possible price.
• Coordinate inventory counts with yard guys.
• Order shop / yard materials.

Qualifications:

• Previous sales / inventory management experience in the lumber or construction industry.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong time management and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
• Knowledgeable in the construction materials field.
• Adaptable to change.
