Position Description

The CAD Technician will use CAD software to create technical drawings and plans for a broad range of products.


  • Follows and understands Mission, Vision, Values
  • Plans and prepared CAD drawings using Civil 3D and Carlson Survey for a range of products including topographic surveys, ALTNA/NSPS surveys, boundary surveys, subdivision plats, construction staking surveys and as-built surveys
  • Create and interpret 3D surface models, triangulated irregular networks and contours
  • Prepare construction staking data for field crews using construction plan sets
  • Process and interpret survey data collected in the field
  • Maintain and organize digital and paper survey records
  • Collaborate with planners, project managers and engineers regarding projects
  • Interact daily with field crews and provide direction and support for ongoing projects
  • Perform (Occasionally) site inspections, courthouse research and quality assurance
  • Develop better processes, efficiencies, and systems
  • Consult with Clients and members of the design and construction teams to discuss specifications
  • Proof designs for potential errors
  • Present design drafts for clients and team members to assess
  • Perform revisions based on feedback
  • Create models of proposed designs, either 2D or 3D, using CAD software
  • Produce final drafts based on notes from prior meetings
  • Meet with clients to receive final approval on the design
  • Maintain records of all versions created during the design process
  • Other duties as needed
Skills/Experience Needed:
  • Excellent managerial and supervisory skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Positive Attitude
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of fleet management and operations
  • Good problem-solving skills in a dynamic setting
  • Desire to improve processes and procedures
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • High School Diploma
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Two (2) years supervisory experience
  • Five (5) years Fleet Maintenance or repair
